Tithe: in Hebrew 'maaser'; a tenth, especially a tithe, tithing.
in Greek 'katatithemi'; to place down, deposit (literally or
figuratively), do, lay, shew.
Dictionary 'tithe'; tenth, the part of our income that is
supposed to be returned to God.
A tenth of the earth's produce was dedicated to God before the time of Moses (Gen. 14:20; Heb. 7:2-6). Jacob vowed to God, "Of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee."
(Gen 28:22)

The Almighty God commanded the LAW of tithing through Moses
(Lev. 27:30-33; Num. 18:21-24; Deut. 12:6-7, 12:17-19, 14:22-29, and 26:12-15); and gave the customs and regulations of it (Num. 18:24-28; 2Chr. 31:5,12; Neh. 10:37-39; Amos 4:4; Mal. 3:8,10; and Heb. 7:5-9).

The vow of our tithing is a promise we make unto God; and God takes our promises very seriously (Deut. 12:11).

From God's commands we learn much about his nature and character. At first glance, these commands may seem irrelevant to our modern world, but they continue to speak to us today. God has not changed and His principles are for all time. As people and society change we are to search for ways to apply God's law to our present circumstances (Matt. 23:23; Luke 11:42, 18:12). The principle of the law of tithing remains and is found in the gospel
(1Cor. 9:13, 14). As the ancient Hebrews consecrated both themselves and their substance to God, thus we are commanded to
do the same.

"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me in this", says the Lord of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it"
(Mal. 3:10).

Thank you for those scriptures. You are absolutely right. God always keeps his promises and we will be blessed if and only if we keep our end of the bargain.
I call it a bargain because we will recieve more than we gave.
